I had been devastated about what happened to Joaquin in 3x06. But then I saw this on a friend's Tumblr. I think this is good to know; this gives me a lot more hope. I really hope for Joaquin to be still alive and get a happy ending with his Preppy (Kevin). Kevin deserves the boyfriend who isn't ashamed of him at all, genuinely cares for him so much, and is always protective of him. Joaquin was never ashamed of being with Kevin, he genuinely cared for Kevin so much, and he was always protective of Kevin. Episode 3x05 showed that Joaquin and Kevin still care about each other. Joaquin wanted Kevin to stay out of danger, and Kevin wanted to search for Joaquin. Moose isn't the right guy for Kevin, and he better get the fuck away from my boy Kevin with his drugs. I've had enough of Moose bullshit. I agree with this 100%. Last week... Rob Raco went back to Vancouver (where Riverdale is being filmed) after being out of there for nearly two months. He posted a new photo of himself inside a trailer on set on his Instagram story, and on the same day he tweeted a photo of Trader Joe's Jingle Jangle...he captioned it with "Getting wild tonight #Riverdale @cw_Riverdale". I don't want to get my hopes up too much though.

Rob Raco didn't post a goodbye message to the Riverdale fandom. Anyway, he's implied that he'll always be a part of the Riverdale family.
Joaquin is a fan favorite, and Joavin (Joaquin and Kevin) is a popular ship.
Rob has been doing numerous interviews, as well as posing in numerous photoshoots and being featured in numerous magazines, and attending celebrity events. Also, he recently mentioned that he'll attend comic cons next year.
Plus, here's Rob's Riverdale chair:

Some excerpts from Casey Cott's interview that he did after the juvie escape episode aired:
- "Joaquin disappeared into the wind in the chaos of Archie's breakout, but it's safe to say that he's front and center in Kevin's mind, and the sheriff's son will be dedicating a lot of energy to figuring out what trouble his ex is in."
- "TV Guide talked to Cott about the surprising reunion and how Joaquin will draw Kevin β and his friends β deeper into the madness of Gryphons and Gargoyles."
- Joaquin is back and out of Juvie! Is the Kevin/Joaquin ship alive again? "I don't know if the ship has sunk, but I think that ship has docked, and I don't see it going too far any time soon. I think the part of that relationship died when Joaquin left... and when he was mopping up human blood and stuff. But with Joaquin anything is possible."
- How is Kevin going to continue to search for him and how is that sort of going to be balanced with Kevin deciding to start playing Gryphons and Gargoyles? "I don't know how much I can say about that. I will say that Joaquin has a cool little story kinda coming up and it may or may not involve Kevin. I think the town is in such a tizzy and I think everybody's so thrown off by what this Gryphons and Gargoyles thing is. It's kind of all-consuming as we go forward. Obviously, now we know that the parents were involved and [that] kind of created this mass hysteria. It's kinda this black hole that's sucking everyone in the town in. It's kind of fun to see how Kevin gets sucked in and what role Joaquin plays in that."
Plus... When Casey was asked how Joaquin's return complicates Kevin's relationship with Moose, he said Joaquin plays a wonderful role, but Kevin and Moose are going pretty solid for now. He also said that we dive into Kevin and Moose halfway through Season 3 (Episode 3x12 to be exact); Kevin kinda stands up for himself a bit, and Moose has a decision to make.

I forgot to point out a couple more things:
Someone commented that s/he closely watched and listened to the interaction between Joaquin and Fangs prior to them most likely staging a death to fool Jughead, and the way those two specifically interacted makes that whole Joaquin situation seem more plausible.
That Joaquin situation that happened in 3x06 wasn't brought up at all in 3x07 and 3x08. Fangs, Sweet Pea and Jughead were the only ones who were aware of Joaquin; also Jughead told Archie about it at the end of 3x06, but neither of them told anyone else. But, Jughead and Archie were out of town during 3x07 and 3x08 (Archie was on the run with Jughead by his side, out of fear of getting caught after escaping from juvie), and Fangs and Sweet Pea weren't in 3x07 and 3x08. This could be a good sign, that it was just a staged death, and so Joaquin may return again later this season.

I really hope Joaquin was just carrying out a staged death. Because it doesn't make sense at all if he's really dead.
I mean...
1) Why did they show us the following in Episode 3x05?
- The Joavin reunion during the escape from juvie..
- Kevin and Joaquin talking to each other, letting us know that they still care about each other..
- Kevin being concerned about Joaquin and going after him..
- Kevin worrying so much about Joaquin while sitting at Pop's with Josie and Reggie..
2) Why did Casey Cott state the following during his TV Guide interview after 3x05 aired?
- When asked about Joavin: "I don't know if the ship has sunk, but I think that ship has docked, and I don't see it going too far any time soon. I think the part of that relationship died when Joaquin left... and when he was mopping up human blood and stuff. But with Joaquin anything is possible."
- When asked about Kevin continuing to search for Joaquin and how that is sort of going to be balanced with Kevin deciding to start playing the Gryphons and Gargoyles game: "I don't know how much I can say about that. I will say that Joaquin has a cool little story kinda coming up and it may or may not involve Kevin." .... [Referring to the G&G game] "It's kinda this black hole that's sucking everyone in the town in. It's kind of fun to see how Kevin gets sucked in and what role Joaquin plays in that."
- When asked how Joaquin's return complicates Kevin's relationship with Moose: "Joaquin plays a wonderful role, but I think Kevin and Moose are going pretty solid for now."
Additional excerpts from Casey's TV Guide interview:
- "Joaquin disappeared into the wind in the chaos of Archie's breakout, but it's safe to say that he's front and center in Kevin's mind, and the sheriff's son will be dedicating a lot of energy to figuring out what trouble his ex is in."
- "TV Guide talked to Cott about the surprising reunion and how Joaquin will draw Kevin β and his friends β deeper into the madness of Gryphons and Gargoyles."
Joaquin is a fan favorite, and Joavin is a popular ship.
Though, the creator of Riverdale stated this during a recent interview, "Even when we see a dead body, we don't necessarily think that's the end of that character."

I wonder if Kevin will ever find out that Joaquin kissed Archie.

A Season 3B trailer shows Archie pointing a gun at a patient in a hospital. Someone said that the patient is probably Joaquin, but another person said that it's probably Hiram (Veronica's dad). It isn't very clear on exactly who the patient is.
From what I have seen in a 3x09 spoiler, it looks like Fangs is in trouble.
I remember... someone commented that s/he closely watched and listened to the interaction between Fangs and Joaquin prior to them most likely staging a death to fool Jughead, and the way those two specifically interacted makes that whole Joaquin situation seem more plausible.
That Joaquin situation that happened in 3x06 wasn't brought up at all in 3x07 and 3x08. I read 3x09 spoilers: We still don't know what happened with Joaquin after Jughead took a quick look at him in 3x06, and still neither do we know the whole story behind this Joaquin situation. Archie was thinking about Joaquin. Archie got attacked by a bear and bled to death. I agree with this 100%.

Late in Season 2, Kevin went completely out of character and went to the Southside to wreck the Serpents' bikes...with Moose! As Moose is closeted and doesn't want to come out, Kevin of course puts pressure on him because he's desperate for lots of affection and wants the relationship to be the same as the one he had with Joaquin. Kevin is willing to take drugs from Moose. Kevin has snapped at a pair of girlfriends holding hands, as he's jealous that he doesn't have a boyfriend who's willing to hold hands with him. My thoughts exactly: I need Joaquin back, and Kevin needs him back too. Kevin was a much better version of himself when he was with Joaquin, and being with Joaquin was the only time Kevin was truly happy, as Joaquin was the better boyfriend.

I choose to stay in denial too. We still don't know the whole story behind this Joaquin situation, and we still don't know what happened with Joaquin after Jughead took a quick look at him. I'm thinking, as long as we don't see Joaquin's body being disposed somewhere and later getting discovered, reported to the police and brought up in the news, nor Joaquin's body in the coroner's lab, nor a funeral for him, nor a grave with his name on it, maybe this is a good sign of Joaquin still being alive. It does happen a lot that characters return time and time again, even when they were believed to be dead. And the Riverdale showrunner has even stated this, "Even when we see a dead body, we don't necessarily think that's the end of that character." Also, as long as Rob Raco doesn't deliver a goodbye message to the Riverdale fandom, this may be another good sign.

My heart breaks for poor Kevin in the latest episode. He was so heartbroken when he and Moose broke up, and Moose left town.
I miss Joaquin so much. I hope they bring him back again and give him back to Kevin. Kevin and Joaquin need each other. BOTH KEVIN AND JOAQUIN DESERVE BETTER!

I do remember Rob being back in Vancouver and posting a picture of himself inside a set trailer on his Instagram story, back in December. He also tweeted something Riverdale-related on the same day he posted his trailer pic.

Tom and Sierra have tied the knot! π ... So, now... Tom is Josie's stepdad. Sierra is Kevin's stepmom. Kevin is Josie's stepbrother and Sierra's stepson. Josie is Kevin's stepsister and Tom's stepdaughter. I love this McKeller wedding aesthetic made by @vanillaflavour81. ππ πππ€΅πΌπ°πΎππ

A personal thought: If Kevin was bisexual and dated Josie, I would definitely ship them a lot. I would prefer Kevin/Josie over Kevin/Moose, of course. But... The only person I see Kevin with is Joaquin. Joavin will always be my OTP, and I still want them to be endgame.
