I know I just came back to the website and it is crazy to have a little personal news to share about myself with everyone.
I just spent over a week in the hospital and had surgery on my lower abdomen. I was having extreme abdominal pain and went to urgent care a couple weeks ago. Apparently they found a blood clot blocking off most of the blood flow in one of my main arteries (inferior vena cava) leading from my groin back up to my heart. They also found an abnormal mass in a CT scan and wanted to biopsy it. Fortunately, it turned out to not be lymphoma (cancer), but just fibrosis (scar tissue) - possibly from a past injury. That is why they had to cut me open, though, in order to look around inside and biopsy whatever the mass is.
So now I am on regiment of blood thinners for the blood clot and having to get my blood drawn a few times a week. They are hoping that this will help break it down and return my circulation back to normal. Overall, it really gave me a my family a good scare. A few times I really wanted to just breakdown. I am still in some pain and off work for a few weeks. I feel so old and vulnerable now, like I hit my 30's and now my health is deteriorating. lol
Anyways, I just wanted you guys to know about it.

OMG!!! In moments like these, I realize how fucked up distance can be ... For me, the friends I've made over the years at Sprousefreaks are more than friends, and when any of them suffer, I I suffer in the distance with him, just as I am glad for his joys ... I am immensely happy that everything was in a terrible scare for you and your family ... Even so, you still have to take good care of yourself and recover well, I hope that The blood clot soon disappears and you feel totally restored, my sweet Matt !!! I would really like to be there, and give you a big hug ... You are someone really important in my life ... You know it well ... I love you with all my heart, my sweet angel Matt!!! first_move .... Muaaahhhh!!!

Thanks guys!! I am making sure to follow all of the doctor's orders, which includes giving myself a shot in the belly twice a day. Fun! Overall I am feeling better everyday. I do have to say that the medical team that treated me was the coolest I've ever encountered. They asked me what my favorite song was before the surgery. I just told them that I like metal music. They were like, Megadeth? I was like I'm more of a Metallica fan. Anyway, when I went into the operation room guess what was playing?? Enter Sandman from Metallica! I thought that was the coolest thing ever. Never heard of a hospital doing that for someone.

Well, unless it's something serious because it would take like ten hours to get me to California. haha

I'm so glad to hear that you've been following all the doctors' orders and recovering well. Hope you fully recover very soon. Wow, that was so awesome of them to play your favorite music (metal) for you while treating you! I think every hospital in the world should do this for all patients. Believe it or not, I like the song "Enter Sandman" too! 🤘

That was really sweet on the part of the medical team that treated you in the surgery, and says a lot about them as people ... I'm so glad they did that for you. The injection in the abdomen is common in this type of operations, it is to avoid possible thrombi, take care of yourself, my sweet Matt ... I am also happy that little by little you feel much better.
