I thought bringing back this thread was a good idea.
I just finished reading a classic book, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Set in the small Southern town of Maycomb, Alabama, during the Depression, To Kill a Mockingbird follows three years in the life of 8-year-old Scout Finch, her brother, Jem, and their father, Atticus--three years punctuated by the arrest and eventual trial of a young black man accused of raping a white woman
I don't understand why I didn't read it sooner, I had it in my shelf for a long time and I kept reading other books. I know that it has a lof of sucess and a classic in the US but it's not the case here in France. Anyway, I really love it. Even if the story happens in the 30's the subject is still very much actual. Also the book isn't just about racism it's also about stereotype, how we often assume things by the way people look or act.

"Splitter" of Sebastian Fitzek Marc Lucas had it all, and lost it all. He is only slowly putting his life back together after the car crash that killed his pregnant wife, when things start to go strangely wrong for him. Nothing too sinister to begin with: his credit cards stop working. But then his key no longer fits his door, and he discovers someone else working in his office. Much worse is to come: he comes home to find himself face to face with his once-dead wife, and she doesn't have a clue who he is. The next day, there is no trace of her. Could this have anything to do with the clinic? They wanted to test their ability to remove traumatic memories from live subjects. Marc had met them, just once, but declined their experimental technology. He now fears they may have begun their tests illicitly...Can he discover just what is happening to him before the waking nightmare he finds himself living overwhelms his sanity. Can´t stop reading this!

"Augensammler" Sebastian Fitzek (in english you would say "eye collector")
"He is playing the oldest game of the world. Hide and seek. He plays it with your children. You have 45 hours to find them. But your search will last forever. First he kills the mother, after he hide the children and the father has 45 hours to find his kid.
It maybe sounds a bit brutal, but it definitly was an good book if you are into the "Psycho crime" genre.

I just finished reading Sarah. About a 12 year old boy who goes on a journey to become a lot lizard prostitute like his mother. Pretty disturbing at times, yet still pretty humorous as well. Written by the author of The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things.

A streetcat named Bob. Its an really great book! Takes place in London and its the real life story of James Bowen and his ginger cat Bob. When James Bowen found an injured, ginger street cat curled up in the hallway of his sheltered accommodation, he had no idea just how much his life was about to change. James was living hand to mouth on the streets of London and the last thing he needed was a pet. Yet James couldn't resist helping the strikingly intelligent tom cat, whom he quickly christened Bob. He slowly nursed Bob back to health and then sent the cat on his way, imagining he would never see him again. But Bob had other ideas. Soon the two were inseparable and their diverse, comic and occasionally dangerous adventures would transform both their lives, slowly healing the scars of each other's troubled pasts. A Street Cat Named Bob is a moving and uplifting story that will touch the heart of anyone who reads it.

It's a beautiful story, based on a true story of a child who was dead for a few minutes, he get see the sky and some of their loved ones with God before returning ... a few months ago someone us talked about this book when on my family we suffer premature death of an aunt, I can not say what I have cried reading the book, but ... I felt better knowing that there is something, and is waiting for us to everyone somewhere.
